The Canterbury Hotel located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis - one block from the
Convention Center, The RCA Dome, Circle Centre Mall and Monument Circle. The Canterbury
Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is Indiana's only 4-Star
4-Diamond Hotel. The hotel has a history of providing quests with luxury accommodations
dating back some 126 years and was renovated in 1983. The goal of the Canterbury is to
reflect the charm and historical quality of Canterbury, England.
Guest Accommodations at the Canterbury of Indianapolis
The 99 guest rooms reflect European traditions with Queen Anne and Chippendale
furnishings that prevail throughout the 12-story building. There are three sizes of Queen
rooms - Standard, Superior, Deluxe - all furnished with a queen size bed. The King rooms
are furnished with a king-size bed and are available in three sizes - Superior, Deluxe,
Junior Suites. The Parlor Suites each have a hallway entrance that opens to a living area,
a second sitting room and a dressing room - furnished with a king-size poster bed. The
Penthouse Suites have unique features and all are Bi-Level suites with loft bedrooms
joined to the main floor by a spiral staircase. The Penthouse Suites have a living area
and full dining room suit. The Presidential Suite is the largest Bi-Level Suite and
contains two king-size bedrooms, two baths, a Jacuzzi tub in the upper level bath and
a complete kitchen.
Meeting and Conference Accommodations at the Canterbury
The Canterbury offers the finest in meeting accommodations in Indianapolis. Designed with
comfort and elegance in mind, the Library and The Boardroom provide a quiet and effective
atmosphere. For larger groups, the Conference Room and The Lockerbie can accommodate
groups up to 110 persons for catered affairs or meetings. Featuring the finest board
tables, plush chairs and spacious work area; efficiency is a priority at the Canterbury.
Dining at the Canterbury in Indianapolis
The on-site Award Winning Restaurant offers American and Continental cuisine prepared by
Chef Rudolph. The Bar is is open daily and will stay open till 3 a.m. upon request.
Afternoon Tea, a European tradition, is served daily from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the hotel
Atrium or Parlor. A variety of finger sandwiches, English tea and freshly baked scones are
served. A Pianist is present Monday through Saturday. The Parlor is an Old-Style English
Sitting Room - providing guests with an extensive selection of literary masterpieces.
